Hopes rise for Ulster deal
The FT reports on the outlines of a possible deal to restore devolution in Northern Ireland.
The paper says that the IRA could be ready to back a new act of decommissioning, along with a statement declaring that its "war" is over.
A further option under consideration would see the IRA provide an inventory of its weapons and a timetable for destroying them.
In return, the Ulster Unionists would commit itself to working with republicans inside the power-sharing Stormont executive.
