Lords reject hunt bill again

Peers have once again rejected Labour's attempt to ban foxhunting.

Amid angry scenes in the Lords chamber, peers from all parties inflicted a series of defeats on the Hunting Bill.

Minister Lord Whitty angrily attacked the "arrogant" behaviour of a Tory peer, the Earl of Onslow.

It is expected that ministers will reintroduce the bill in the Queen's Speech on November 26 and invoke the Parliament Act to force it through.

Peers have also warned that the government faces a "ridiculous [legislative] logjam" in the upper house.
