The CBI has called on ministers to invest in Britain's transport infrastructure.

Director general Digby Jones said that the reality for many businesses was that "things are getting worse".

The CBI has also joined a consortium of freight industry leaders to fight a downgrading of rail freight services by the Strategic Rail Authority.
