Hain drops anti-US speech
Commons leader Peter Hain yesterday pulled out of delivering a speech attacking American social policies.
A draft of his speech blamed US policies for poverty and social breakdown, but was dropped in favour of off the cuff remarks about the euro and the European constitution.
The Times reports that the Foreign Office had been unhappy with the planned speech.
