DTI calls for talks to avert post strike
The government is set to pressure Communication Workers Union leaders in Brighton this week to resume talks with the Royal Mail in order to avert a national strike.
Patricia Hewitt, the trade and industry secretary, will attend a dinner with union leaders, while new employment minister Gerry Sutcliffe is holding a series of talks with officials all week.
