Interviewed in the FT today, Unison chief Dave Prentis says he wants to build an alliance with those outside the traditional union base in a bid to draw up an alternative - but nonetheless radical - strategy for NHS reform.

Prentis also predicts that this month's Labour conference will be "dominated" by the government's controversial foundation hospital proposals.
