Kennedy warns PM on PR
Charles Kennedy has called on Tony Blair to honour his pledge to review the voting system following the Brent East by-election victory.
With the Liberal Democrats in celebratory mood as they gather for their party conference, Kennedy said: "If the issue at the moment for the government is trust then something like this is key.
"This was a manifesto commitment and it is time for the prime minister to honour it."
Meanwhile, in an interview with today's Independent, the Liberal Democrat leader says that "people are fundamentally disillusioned with Labour in power".
In an interview with the Guardian, party president Lord Dholakia noted: "Give Charles an election and he's like a terrier and he will literally tear others into pieces, and actually project himself as an honest, decent politician."
And the Mail reports that the Lib Dems are planning to target the seats of senior Tory MPs at the next election in a bid to "cut off the party's head".
