John Prescott is fighting moves by the RMT union to have him evicted from a flat he has rented for more than 30 years.

The deputy prime minister, who has three other homes, is refusing to move to allow low cost homes to be built on the site.

Prescott is the minister responsible for implementing a government policy aimed at increasing more affordable housing for young people.
