The CBI has begun a campaign against European Commission proposals on chemicals regulation which the business lobby claims would force companies to submit test data on 30,000 substances.

"An extra burden on this scale will drive jobs away to countries such as China which will not have to test even if the final products are imported into the EU," deputy director general John Cridland said.
