Lockerbie deal agreed with Libya
A landmark deal has been agreed between the Libyan government and relatives of the victims of the 1988 Lockerbie aircraft bombing.
Colonel Gadafi's regime will pay £1.7 billion in compensation to the families and accept responsibility for the attack.
Libya is then likely to see UN and US economic sanctions lifted after years of diplomatic negotiations.
