Over three-quarters of NHS hospital doctors plan to quit the health service before normal retirement age because of long hours, stress and depression, according to a new survey published today.

The research, from the magazine Hospital Doctor, found that just 23 per cent of NHS medics are prepared to stay in the NHS until 65, with the rest planning to leave early.
