Postal strike moves nearer
The main postal union has demanded an eight per cent pay rise and set out plans for two strike ballots, national action over pay and London-wide action over London weighting payments.
Dave Ward, deputy general secretary of the Communication Workers Union, said yesterday: "The union will not sign up to the kind of slash and burn restructuring, which would rip the heart out of the industry and deal a fatal blow to a valued public service."
