A US expert in discipline with a record of tackling gang violence is to be paid £180,000 to turn around a failing UK school.

H Jerome Freiberg of the University of Houston will spend two years at Haywood School in Nottingham. Inspectors say the school is failing because of endemic bad behaviour.
