The government may have to reform speeding laws after footballer Dwight Yorke had a conviction overturned yesterday because of a loophole surrounding evidence from speed cameras.

A High Court judge ruled that the Blackburn Rovers striker's conviction must be quashed because of evidence that he did not personally fill in a police form, returned unsigned, to show that he had been the speeding driver.
