Patricia Hewitt has been accused of misleading parliament over Royal Mail's plans to stop using mail trains

Mick Rix, general secretary of Aslef, challenged the trade and industry secretary on a statement she made in the House of Commons in March last year.

He said: "It is now clear that Ms Hewitt misled MPs over Royal Mail's plans. What she told parliament turns out to have been the exact reverse of the truth."
