Ministers backtrack on pharmacy sales

The government is set to reject proposals from the Office of Fair Trading for the wholesale liberalisation of the retail chemists market.

Although supermarkets will benefit from some relaxation of the rules, ministers will water down proposals because they want traditional high street chemists to play a role in easing pressure on the NHS.
