The GMB union could be forced to axe jobs as a result of a funding deficit.

The union has been forced by two of its banks to sell £1 million of shares to pay staff salaries.

"We will be thinking through the processes we use to provide our members with services to see if we can do this more cost effectively," said a spokesman.
