Night flights boost for ministers

The government has won its appeal against a court decision that Heathrow night flights violated the human rights of local residents.

The European Court of Human Rights concluded that ministers had attempted to strike a "fair balance" between the economic importance of night flights for the country as a whole and the interests of West London residents particularly disturbed by aircraft noise.
