Labour donor loses smallpox contract
A company run by a prominent Labour Party donor has been passed over for a £45.2 million government contract for smallpox vaccine.
Powderject Pharmaceuticals was turned down after winning a £32 million deal last year for an estimated 20 million anti-smallpox doses.
The Department of Health gave the new contract to Aventis Pasteur MSD after an open tendering process.
