Jowell 'assumes' Brown succession
Interviewed in today's Times, Tessa Jowell, the culture secretary, says: "If at some point, in many years to come, Tony decided to do something else... I assume Gordon would succeed him."
Meanwhile the chancellor has given the prime minister a pension deal which makes it more attractive to retire before April 2005, the Lib Dems will claim today.
