Anti-hunting MPs have asked for police protection after receiving abuse and threats from pro-hunting activists.

Michael Foster, who was one of the first MPs to try to push through a ban, has been told he is on a "hit list" of the militant Real Countryside Alliance.

The environment ministers Alun Michael - who is in charge of steering a ban through the Commons - and Elliott Morley are among those reported to have been sent abusive mail.
