Prescription costs declared 'too expensive'

The NHS is becoming too expensive for many patients, a coalition of medical and consumer organisations says today.

The coalition, led by the National Consumer Council, claims in a letter to today's Independent that charges for NHS treatment on prescriptions, spectacles and dentistry are deterring patients from seeking help and unfairly targeting those with chronic conditions.
