Hundreds of patients have lost some of their sight because hospitals have concentrated on government-imposed targets rather than follow-up appointments, a body representing NHS eye specialists in England says today.

In a letter to the Telegraph, the Ophthalmic Clinical Directors' Forum said its members had reported concerns "throughout the country".
