Air travel boom to cause noise 'misery'

The number of those seriously affected by noise from aircraft will double in the next 30 years if the government predictions of a near tripling of air traffic are fulfilled, according to a study published yesterday.

Around 600,000 people will find aircraft noise unacceptable or be "very much bothered by it" according to the study by transport consultants for the Council for the Protection of Rural Britain.
