Iain Duncan Smith has scrapped his plans for a Shadow Cabinet reshuffle this summer.

Sources close to the Conservative leadership have told today's Times that he is happy with the performance of senior figures and wants to allow the public services team to stay in place to complete the development of new policies for the next general election.

"Reshuffles are part of the political calendar so, of course, one was considered," a Tory source said. "However, Iain swiftly decided against it in favour of stability and continuity."
