Lords face longer working hours

Ministers in the House of Lords are having to ask peers to work longer hours to help them pass a number of bills being delayed by legislative gridlock.

Tory peers say they expect to be asked to stay on at Westminster in late July or to cancel their party conference recess in late September to help the government.
