Duncan Smith safe as Tory leader

Tory rebels have accepted that Iain Duncan Smith will lead the Conservatives into the next general election, according to today's Guardian.

"Iain was once again truly dreadful against Blair," one critic said of his performance yesterday during prime minister's questions. "But he is 90 per cent out of the woods and will be safe, unless he messes up again."

Duncan Smith accused the government of hiding the true number of teacher redundancies and warned that job losses were three times higher than last year.
