A recruitment company run by a donor to the Labour Party yesterday denied any wrongdoing after a raid by police investigating an alleged fraud involving illegal immigrant workers.

The Liverpool offices of Reed in Partnership were searched on Saturday in an operation with the Department of Work and Pensions and the Immigration Service.
