Bush 'troubled' by Israeli attack
The Bush administration reacted angrily to Israel's attempt to kill a senior Palestinian leader of the Hamas terrorist group.
Condoleezza Rice, US national security adviser, led a series of phone calls to senior figures in Ariel Sharon's government.
President Bush said he was "troubled" by the incident and regretted the loss of innocent life. "I also don't believe the attacks will help Israeli security," he added.
