Science Minister Lord Sainsbury will use an interview next month to tell Prince Charles to stay out of politics.

Speaking to Saga magazine, the minister criticised Prince Charles' public interventions over GM crops and other countryside issues.

"I think Prince Charles does have strongly held views. The issue really is about the Royal Family getting involved in political issues," he says.

"Constitutional convention is that they stay out. It is at least debatable that these issues are political and therefore the Royal Family should not get involved."
