With Conservative MPs massing today for a weekend of team bonding in Buckinghamshire, their leader has admitted that they "don't love each other".

In an interview in The Spectator magazine, Iain Duncan Smith says: "We don't love each other. We just get on with each other. We are a party.

"Actually I think you've got to ask yourselves in the media why there is so much coverage of rows. The general public are really quite bored by these sorts of stories."

Of the party's 165 MPs, 125 are expected to attend the team building session at the Latimer House Conference Centre in Chesham.

The building was formerly a top secret PoW interrogation centre during the second world war.
