Euro membership 'would end free NHS'
The Times reports that Gordon Brown has been warned that the future of the NHS could be in doubt if Britain joins the euro.
The European Central Bank is said to be pressing for restrictions on state-funded healthcare in a bid to prevent the European economy becoming overwhelmed by the costs.
Meanwhile former DTI mandarin Andrew Fraser has warned that delaying a euro referendum could cost thousands of jobs.
The Guardian reports that pro-euro MPs are set to confront the chancellor when he rules out euro membership later this month.
