The operator of Britain's first toll motorway is at the centre of a row over its pricing policy.

The group's Australian majority shareholder, Macquarie Infrastructure, said the 50-year contract to run the M6 toll road north of Birmingham presented the best chance in the world to impose monopoly pricing.
