Head teachers have called for national tests for seven-year-olds to be scrapped.

Delegates at the National Association of Head Teachers' conference also urged the union's leadership to investigate the viability of a boycott of Sats tests, which begin today in English, maths and science for all 14-year-olds and some pupils aged seven.
