Gulf war syndrome campaigners have welcomed the Ministry of Defence's decision to not appeal against a ruling by the war pensions tribunal which accepts a link between the condition and vaccinations given to the armed forces.

The National Gulf War Veterans Association, which is calling for a public inquiry, said it was "an outstanding victory".
