Robin Cook has finally moved out from the official residence of the foreign secretary some two years after losing the job.

Cook checked out of his Carlton Gardens pad on Thursday after making a cup of tea for the removal men who assisted him in turning his back on the perks on high office.

The former leader of the Commons, who quit over Iraq, said the flat was "mundane" and insisted he had no regrets about his departure.
