Local elections: One week to go
With a week to go until the local elections, today's Times says that the poll will be a crucial test for the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.
Tony Travers, local government expert at the London School of Economics, said: "If the Liberal Democrats start winning seats from the Tories in the South, there will be mass panic among Tory MPs. Michael Howard... [and] Theresa May will all be watching anxiously."
The FT focuses on council tax rises which, experts say, are now more popular than service cuts.
