Coalition victory in Iraq has left British voters relatively unmoved, according to a YouGov survey for today's Telegraph.

The survey gives Labour 40 per cent of support, up two points from March, the Conservatives 32 per cent, down one point, and the Liberal Democrats 21 per cent, up one point.

A total of 36 per cent of voters "approve of the government's record to date", while 35 per cent believe that Labour can manage the economy better than the Tories. And 34 per cent think the government has been "on balance honest and trustworthy".

Meanwhile it has emerged that Tony Blair took repeated secret advice from Bill Clinton on how to solve the diplomatic impasse between Europe and the US in the build-up to the war on Iraq.

The prime minister and the former American president met at least three times to discuss the war, including on one occasion at Chequers.
