The Scottish Conservatives were dealt a new blow yesterday with the defection of a second Scottish parliamentary candidate to a rival party.

Lindsay McIntosh, who held a seat in the Central Scotland region, announced she was defecting to the Scottish People's Alliance.

Former frontbencher Keith Harding announced a similar move earlier this week.
