The Conservatives have called for Robin Cook to be kicked out of the government "grace and favour" flat at 1 Carlton Gardens.

Despite resigning from the Cabinet and campaigning against the war, Cook has been allowed to stay in the accommodation until he finds a new home.

Property experts have said that as a backbench MP receiving the housing as a benefit in kind the former Commons leader could face a £2000 a week tax bill.
