An Iraqi billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, has been arrested in London on the basis of a French extradition warrant.

The Guardian reports that he has been linked to a French corruption trial but has been under apparent British protection for two years.

He has put a number of British politicians on the boards of his companies, including Labour MP Keith Vaz.
