Governor gives warning on markets' war rally
Bank of England governor Sir Eddie George yesterday gave a cautious response to last week's stock market rally, suggesting it might have been too much, too soon.
George said in a speech last night that markets had "factored in" a "rapid conclusion" to the war in Iraq which may have been premature.
A real recovery would take place more steadily "over the next year or two" he claimed.
