Bank boss sees easier euro entry
Sir Edward George, governor of the Bank of England, has told MPs that the falling value of Sterling has made it easier for Britain to join the euro.
Speaking yesterday, he said that the value of the pound was no longer the "immediate obstacle" to joining the single currency that it had been.
Sir Edward also said there would be nothing scientific about determining the right exchange rate should Britain opt to join, explaining that it would be "a matter of judgement".
