Iain Duncan Smith has refused to say whether the tax burden would be lower under a Conservative government. Speaking during an interview on the BBC's Newsnight, in which he was heckled by former Tory voters, Duncan Smith said his party was "at its heart and soul a party of lower tax than Labour".
