Tony Blair is holding successive meetings with Labour backbenchers concerned about Iraq.

The prime minister has been seeing MPs in small groups in order to explain his strategy.

"Lots of Labour MPs are absolutely livid about the fact that some of their colleagues are trying to turn this into a question of confidence in the prime minister," one Blairite MP told today's Telegraph.
