The government's attempt to set up a nationwide network of asylum centres is under threat by the failure to find suitable sites.

The Home Office announced yesterday that it would not now pursue plans for accommodation centres in South Glamorgan, Edinburgh and RAF Hemswell in Lincolnshire.
