UDA announce ceasefire
The Ulster Defence Association, Northern Ireland's biggest loyalist terrorist group, has announced a 12-month ceasefire.
The UDA also hinted that it would decommission its weapons if there was a similar IRA response.
Today's Times reports that Downing Street is close to finalising an offer to republicans which could see up to 5000 British troops withdrawn from Northern Ireland in return for an "act of completion" by the IRA.
