Archbishop sparks asylum row
The Archbishop of Canterbury has said it is "perfectly reasonable" to lock up asylum seekers whilst their claims are processed.
Oliver Letwin, the shadow home secretary, said: "The Archbishop's welcome comments give the lie to anybody that suggests that the Conservative position is extreme or inhumane. It is time for David Blunkett and Tony Blair to think again - and fast."
