Jowell 'poised to back Olympic bid'
The House of Commons will this week debate a potential bid to host the Olympic Games in 2012.
In a debate in the Commons chamber tomorrow, Tessa Jowell will tell MPs that there is a "very strong sporting case" for the capital hosting the Olympics.
The culture secretary will also attend a two day hearing by the culture, media and sport select committee which will hear arguments from sporting officials, athletes and politicians.
Meanwhile, a London assembly committee has warned that any bid for the Olympics would fail without significant transport improvements.
