Ken Livingstone yesterday attacked the "fumbled response" of London Underground bosses to Saturday's tube crash, arguing that poor management means the system is unsafe.

The mayor of London said that passengers "take a risk every time they get on" the tube, adding: "Every day there isn't a fatal accident at London Underground is another day when we're lucky."
